The person who runs the city is called the Mayor. Edmonton's Mayor is Stephen Mandel. He is stepping down to let another person be Mayor.
He has run the city for eight years. He was focused on having nice architecture in the city, especially downtown. He wanted to attract tourists and people to live in Edmonton.
He will be the Mayor for a while longer. Elections are in October.
